Lauren Poniatowski, M.D., M.S.

I am currently a urology resident at the University of Washington with a longstanding interest in simulation research, development and simulator validation. During my fellowship I have had the opportunity to participate in curriculum and simulator model development with a focus on application in pediatric urology, as well as other areas. My goals this year included creation of a curricula for pediatric foley insertion and pediatric circumcision. I have been able to utilize my skills as a biomedical engineer while performing tissue properties characterization to advance our ability to develop high fidelity simulator models. I plan to continue work in the field of simulation and balance this with my career path in pediatric urology. This fellowship has allowed me to further develop my skills in these areas and emphasizes experiences that allow fellows to develop leadership skills in the field of simulation.
