WISH Innovations in Simulation Award (WISA)

 
 

WISA CALL FOR PROPOSALS 

Do you have an exciting idea or project in the area of healthcare simulation? If so, we want to hear about it! Through the generosity of local donors, WISH is pleased to announce the 5th annual cycle for the WISH Innovation in Simulation Award (WISA), to support projects aimed to improve the health of the public through healthcare simulation science.  

 

Submitting Proposals: 

To be considered, please provide a one-page project description including: 

  • Demonstrated need/rationale  

  • Potential impact  

  • Project personnel 

  • Project timeline 

  • Anticipated funding needs with preliminary budget breakdown/estimations  

 

Selection criteria includes: 

  • Alignment with UW Medicine Strategic Priorities 

  • Addresses specific/immediate need 

  • Within scope of WISH Mission to, “Improve the health of the public through healthcare simulation science.” 

Project scope and timeline must be achievable within the 1-year funding cycle*.(Funding cycle: July 2025-June 2026). 

*Considerations may be made for no-cost timeline extensions on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be submitted in writing no later than 30-days prior to the end of the funding cycle. No-cost extension justification must accompany a written annual report of project status to-date. 

 

Eligibility and Responsibilities: 

All UW Medicine faculty, staff, and researchers are eligible and invited to participate, however priority consideration will be given to Adjunct Faculty and Members of the Division of Healthcare Simulation Science.  

 

Recipients of WISA Funding will be required to submit quarterly project updates (including expenditures to-date), and a final project report/summary to be presented at an annual WISA Project Meeting, part of the Division of Healthcare Simulation Science Grand Rounds series.
